Hearts for Little June Rudd

I guess I've got a heart theme going this week! Many of you have seen this on Facebook or on the news, but I thought it was just pure sweetness. Let the video speak for itself, but I wanted to be a part of this! And I thought it was a great way to get the kids to see that their health is a GIFT! Let's help this little girl in such a simple, sweet way!! 20,000 hearts by June 1st! I think so :)

carrot hearts!

I saw this done a little differently on Pinterest, but I found this way to be a little easier. It took a little longer, but when you see how cute they look, you won't care :)

I make my favorite chicken noodle soup in the crockpot, here 'tis:

4 chicken breasts cut up (I use from frozen)
2-3 stalks of celery, sliced
one yellow onion chopped
3 -4 carrots sliced
1 box of your favorite noodles (or I like to combine different kinds)
2 cartons Swanson's chicken broth (depending on how thick or how hearty you want it)
salt, pepper and Mrs. Dash to taste

Combine all but the noodles on low setting, add the noodles the last half hour or until done to your liking! Serve with salad and our fav---sliced bread, topped with fresh parmesan, broiled til golden brown.

FISH TACOS....JUST FOR THE HALIBUT :)

We eat a lot of tacos around here! This was my attempt at what we had in Hawaii!

Fish Tacos

Grilled Halibut with a little salt, pepper and a little butter
2 avocados mixed/mashed with 2 cloves of garlic and your favorite salsa-to taste
mixed shredded cabbage
sour cream
sweet corn
squirt of lemon
I also think adding cheese to anything makes it better, but I didn't have any! :)

AND the kids loved them too!

Naan garlic pizza

This is what I turn to for a pizza craving! Quick, easy, fresh and so deeelish! You can use fresh mozzarella of any kind, and this naan is now available with garlic! (found this at Festival Foods) Drizzle the flatbread with olive oil, cut up the fresh basil, add sliced tomatoes and mozzarella, and minced garlic if you love it :) bake for 10 -15 minutes or until melty and baked to your liking :) I like to broil them for the last few minutes, and you may also like salt and pepper on top.

hearts "a bunches" for lunches

I admit (& my sister will attest) that I have pretty much hated hearts all my life....heart shaped things, clothing with hearts, I DREADED a boyfriend giving me any heart-shaped jewelry. BUT, having 3 little girls...these sweet lil shapes are sure growing on me :) Today was declared 'GIRLY LUNCH DAY', and hearts were the focus :) I <3 cookie cutters! ;o)
